our servers are mocking kinds of fast!

Due to increased demand for our services we've upgraded our servers.

Our model hosting server is housed in a state-of-the-art datacenter located in the upper mid-west, far from earthquakes, tornadoes, and floods. All services in the datacenter are redundant; power, networking, and cooling. The network is serviced by four tier-1 bandwidth providers. Our server is a dual-processor, dual-core Opteron server running at 2.0Ghz. Data is RAID1 protected and new models are backed-up nightly. The whole system is monitored by a 3rd party system that alerts our IT staff of any interruption in service within 2 minutes.

The basic model hosting service is provided by a VPS (virtual private server) with 512MB dedicated, burstable to 1GB RAM. Service options (based on scale and available requirements) allow implementations using multiple, redundant and load-balanced, dedicated servers distributed through multiple datacenters.

We selected our hosting service based on a rich feature set, proven availability, and measured, best-in-class, model load times.

An added benefit to 3DVO model hosting is our ability to quickly implement upgrades to our view code or your models for enhancements or maintenance issues. We also have security measures in place that protect not only our proprietary code but the copyrights of your images and the controlled use of your models. The deployment system we've set up has also made it incredibly easy for you to share your 3D models with venders of your products – just register their domain name with us and send them the links.

In-House Post Processing System

Our ‘camera to website’ image post processing system is designed for availability and data protection. Editing and image manipulation is performed on custom, homogenous, workstations. All post processing data is stored locally on redundant, mirrored, file servers. A nightly, automated system replicates key data sets to our disaster recovery site. Computer failures are handled by simply using a different workstation or server until the failed computer is replaced or repaired.

Post-processing images from each step in the production process are retained for a minimum of 90 days. The images used to create the final model and the completed models are retained indefinitely on our local systems and our remote disaster systems.
